Adopting technology solutions, for productivity gains and addressing issues which result in wastage, is rapidly gaining ground in the logistics sector, across India. According to the current plan, investment amounting to as much as $500 billion is envisaged in the logistics infrastructure space in the next ten years in the country.
While plans have been drawn, service providers as well as companies which avail the services of these vendors have to rely solely on the implementation of these plans to witness a decline in the rate of wastage. In such a scenario, the use of IT in the logistics sector is being seen as the most viable medium which can string together various processes bringing optimum value from each resource and thereby improve efficiency.
